Hi Lisa, very good point! Sometimes the line is not that clear and it can be difficult to determine if it's a business or a legal decision. And like you point it out...many of these decisions are 'business decisions' before requiring 'legal decisions’. Thank you for this great reminder.

Christine - Of course you love the name of this blog post! :-) Yes, I hear ya about delegating. So true. If you have an effective delegation system, then technically you ARE getting more than one thing done at a time, by using someone else. Very great point! But to be fair, not all entrepreneurs are as good at "juggling" it all the way you are, so for some, it means slowing down figuring out what they want to focus on, and implementing one thing at a time. Otherwise, they suffer from Entrepreneurial ADD and nothing gets done (or at least nothing gets done well!). But I agree that mastering the art of the juggling, and knowing how to effectively use your team is key to being a multi-passionate entrepreneur. That's how I run my business. But looking at life, not just business, I have seen that many people try to do too much and then fail at everything. So I think Dan Thurmon's message is to do exactly what you said about breathing (except he does it with juggling) -- take one breath in, let one breath out. Ahhhhh.... feels good! Thanks again for your comment!

Karen - Thanks for your comment! And I am so glad that you are able to use the phone interruption metaphor, as that does drive it home and put it in perspective. You are certainly well on your way from what I read in your Facebook post! But glad these tips will help you not only act, but do the necessary mind-set and attitude shifting that can really make the difference long term in your behavior and get results. Best of luck! Let me know how it goes. :-)

Hi Lisa....LOL I love that post of course, and I have to admit I agree with everything that has been said. Jeanne, I'm like you I juggle, why? Because that's what entrepreneurs do, it's part of the game. Lisa I agree, juggling also means one task at a time....but that doesn't mean one activity at a time, that's where delegation comes in. Choice and decision, focus and clarity must play in the equation, to make the juggling an easy exercise. Once you have the clarity to know what you should focus on, then it's up to you to decide what belongs to you and what can be delegated. Now that being said, it's like breathing; you cannot inhale while exhaling, so of course, choices will have to be made. Because it's really hard to do 2 different things with one brain and only one set of hands....LOL

Wow - great tips that I'm looking forward to implementing. This is certainly going to take a mental shift. I've been thinking tho that it should parallel my attitude about phone calls. I don't live my day by interruptions (or so I tell myself) which means only answering the phone at certain times or when I'm 'free' to. If I stay organized using these tips I think it'll be easier to have the same approach about email - being proactive and intentional vs. letting it interrupt my day. Thanks! I'm on my way.

Jeanne - Your comment made me chuckle, but I sense that you are being serious. Here's the thing -- if what you are doing is working and you like it, don't change it. :-) Maybe you are a multi-tasker and you realize that quality and focus may suffer, but you thrive on the multi-tasking itself and that drives you forward. Or maybe you are not a multi-tasker at all, but a multi-project manager. Some people confuse doing a project with a task. Maybe you are a uni-tasker who works on multiple projects at a time, but are able to focus on each one in the moment. Or no, maybe you just have a lot of balls in the air, are constantly juggling and are not ready, willing or able to change. So be it. Keep on doing what works for you and that you love, my friend! I, for one, though, am going to try to juggle one thing at a time and in the moment, and see how that feels. I'll let you know if I suffer from withdrawal! :-)
